Special Awards: Occasionally, the State Arts Council recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the arts in New Hampshire but do not fit into any of the above categories. These unique awards are determined by the State Arts Council and presented at Governor's Arts Awards.

• 2017 - In Memory of Commissioner Van McLeod

• 2013 - Pedro Pimentel - Youth Arts Leadership Award
• 2011 - Fritz Wetherbee, Voice of New Hampshire Award
• 2007 - Ken Burns, Creative Enterprise Award
• 2003 - Senator Judd Gregg, Government Leadership in the Arts
• 1997 - Arthur Hall, Maine Resident, NH Artist in Residence
